Shana Marie Stitzel’s desire to teach yoga began with her journey into meditation and most importantly, as she describes it, “the journey into truth & presence “. Completely dedicated to teaching others to reflect joy, peace, and light into every moment of their lives, she shares her own light & love with others by sharing from traditional forms of yoga with the emphasis being mindfulness. She completed her certification of raw food chef in 2009, her 200- hour RYT certification in 2010 with Global Yoga and 300- hour yoga certification in 2015 under the direct guidance of Suddha Weixler of the Chicago Yoga Center.

Shana’s teachings have provided her many opportunities to teach and share yoga & mindfulness with others in a wide variety of settings. She has been invited to instruct in such diverse environments as corporate events, private clients, non-profits, charities, on movies sets, art galleries and studios, as well as in classroom environments at studios throughout Chicago since 2010.

Shana has taught for corporate events, charities, & nonprofits. She has been hired for a range of brands including Intel, Lululemon, Vancouver tourism, Manifest Digital, and Vogue, Radiological Society of North America, Destinations International, Searchwide Global, Dress For Success and many more.

Shana has worked on and off set as a yoga teacher to many notable film actors, actresses, producers, and directors. She has worked with Shailene Woodley (Fault in Our Stars), Theo James (Divergent series), Douglas Wick producer (Gladiator, The Great Gatsby), and Lucy Fisher producer (Memoirs of a Geisha). Shana is also featured as herself in Darryl Roberts documentary film, “America the Beautiful, The Thin Commandments”.

Shana has taught over 6500 hours of yoga with well-known studios in Chicago including Self Centered Studios, Flow Studios, Namaskar, Valeo, Cocoon Care, Cousin’s Raw Food, Prestige Fitness, Essence Medspa, Centered Studios and now her own studio Central Street Yoga in, Evanston IL.

Attending her classes you will find her voice echoes warmth and true gratitude for every moment on and off the mat. She encourages others to see themselves with clarity & find what is sacred to them while in the practice. Her deepest hope is that she may continue to grow & share the gifts given her to ignited her true heart’s passion for yoga. There are many teachers she wishes to thank that have inspired her along her path.

Formally a dedicated student of Chicago Yoga Center with deep gratitude for her teacher Suddha Weixler, who is a direct disciple of Swami Narayanananda. Shana shares yoga knowledge of the Tirumalai Krishnamacharia lineage. She also shares her passion in teaching the discipline of Ashtanga yoga. She holds three Ashtanga yoga certificates and is an authorized teacher of the Traditional Ashtanga Yoga System. She is grateful to have studied under the direct guidance of Sri Manju Pattabi Jois, upholding the Jois family lineage. Thankful to study with Srivatsa Ramaswami, she passes along the deep knowledge within the  practice, knowing every moment holds the potential to awaken and experience enlightenment.  Exposed to many styles of teaching : Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara, Ashtanga, Yin Yoga and other styles.

 

Whitney Katz

Whitney Katz a 200 hour YA certified teacher.

Whitney Katz, Yoga Teacher graduate of 2015 through the YogaNow teacher training program under the guidance of Kali Om, a disciple of Sri Dharma Mittra.

Whitney brings compassion, care, and love to the practice. Her primary teaching and practice include both vinyasa and gentle yoga. Her intention is to bring health and healing to others. Whitneys playful energy brings loving - kindness to the practice. If you are looking for a beginning or end of day reset Whitneys vibrant energy, care and compassion are a nice boost!
